Welcome to The Realized Self!
What is The Realized Self about?
The Realized Self strives to help people grow as individuals and promotes world change. The Realized Self offers inspiring writing that stimulates peoples awareness and promotes consciousness, workshops that open people’s minds to understanding themselves, their relationships, and the world in more expansive ways, and intentional events that invigorate people’s sense of possibility for their lives and the world. The Realized Self exists to develop and disseminate new visions and possibilities of self, relationship, and society.
Why The Realized Self?
Learning and growing as an individual has become one of the most important things to me. Striving to evolve myself has been one of the consistent undercurrents of my life. My journey to become more conscious, both inwardly, about myself, and outwardly, towards the world, has transformed my life info a far deeper and richer experience. My experience has led me to believe that our very efficacy in life depends upon our level of consciousness. What we can accomplish and create for ourselves and the world depends on the degree to which we are aware, responsive, and our knowledge integrated into our lives.
Through my journey of growth, I have come to see how I often create my own problems. Similarly, I believe that the world’s problems are caused by the level of emotional, psychological, and spiritual development of the human species. I agree with and appreciate the wisdom of Einstein’s famous comment, “Problems cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them.” I believe that improving our lives and world requires that we learn and grow beyond what we are today. Inward change precedes outward change, I believe; whatever we want to change, we must begin with ourselves.
What is Self Realization?
I believe that people have an innate drive to become all that they are capable of becoming. The full expression of one’s talents and abilities, and the greatest possible development of our emotional, intellectual, psychological, spiritual, sexual selves could be called self realization. We all have unimaginable untapped potential within ourselves, and one of our purposes here is the realization of this potential.
Self realization may also be seen as enlightenment in a spiritual sense, an awakening from a state of illusion or ignorance into a state of clarity in which one sees things as they truly are.
What do I want?
I want the world to change. I want it to change so that I can feel good about the state of my human brothers and sisters, and my family that is the natural world. I want a world that will nurture you and I, instead of you and I struggling against it. I want to experience a world that evolves as a result of our species radically challenging and redefining what it means to be “human.” I want a world where people see and experience primarily possibilities, not obstacles. I want a world created from the collective dreams of our species when we are at our best. I want a world that epitomizes the best in the human race, for at our best we are incredible.
I dream big for the world but I also dream big for myself. In my dreams, I have realized my self, having casted off the shackles that hold me back. In doing so, I have claimed my unbounded power to create incredible, beautiful and profound things in this world, enriching it with that which I can uniquely offer. I have become the person of my dreams: simply myself, as I truly am, unobscured and unhindered.
I believe all of this is possible, and that to accomplish it, what is required is that we raise our consciousness, and become more than we are today. Please join me on this journey.
